Sampit Sewer Project Information

The Sampit Community Sewer Installation project is one of several Georgetown County Water and Sewer District projects included in the voter-approved Capital Project Sales Tax program. The project is listed as a priority project and is allocated $13,302,650 in CPST funding.

Georgetown County voters approved the 1% Capital Project Sales Tax during the November 2024 general election. The tax began collecting May 1, 2025, and is scheduled to remain in place for eight years. County information states that the tax will help fund 22 voter-approved capital projects, including water and sewer improvements in rural areas, as well as a new emergency operations center. If collections exceed what is needed to complete the priority list, remaining revenue may be directed to approved contingency projects.
